馮內果(Kurt Vonnegut)的《第五號屠宰場》(Slaughterhouse-Five)以"poo-tee-weet?"來結尾。
人都死光了，還有甚麼好講，只有鳥兒留下了在叫。在不同的文學和電影裡，我總看見鳥兒們留守到最後。
為甚麼不，只要你的天父不許，牠們一個也不許掉下來。即使我一直以來已掩埋過那麼多。

I used to bury birds I found on the road when I was younger, although Kurt Vonnegut regards birds as the only 
survivor in massacre, and our Heavenly Father won't let anyone of them fall on the ground.
